The Ford F-150 has several trim packages available on their F-series trucks and this article is going to run those down for you. You know those letters that accompany the name of the vehicle. The base F-150 has the trim designation XL. This is also known as the work truck. You can add options to it, if you custom order one, but it comes standard with a 248-horse power, 4.6-liter 2v V-8 engine, four-speed automatic transmission. Black bumpers, mirrors, and door handles. The affordable sporty F-150 is called the STX it comes standard with a 248-horse power, 4.6-liter 2v V-8 engine, four-speed automatic transmission. Body color bumpers, grille surround, fog lamps, dark interior with grey seats, 17-inch alloy wheels are standard, and 18's are optional.

Ford's most popular (best selling) F-150 is the XLT which has more options standard like: 248-horse, 4.6-liter 2v V-8 engine with a four-speed automatic transmission. Chrome grille, bumpers. The standard interior options are: black with gray (cool) or chocolate brown with tan (warm) interiors with silver paint on dash, dark finish on center stack, upgraded instrument cluster and 17, 18, or 20-inch wheels. The cab sizes for this model affect the engine size as follows: SuperCab and SuperCrew feature a 4.6-liter 3v V-8, six-speed automatic.
